Earth, gender and food security: Maria Zaloumis’ journey of feminising Agric-business in Zambia

This article explores the interconnectedness of earth, gender and food security in Zambian context using narrative Maria Zaloumis (a female farmer) public sphere. It draws on a research design by restorying Maria’s trajectory Agric-business as informed African ecofeminist theory. The study shows that was described an emerging young farmer emblem entrepreneurship. Her mirrored intersection through her portrayal woman who endured life tragedies losing child, being victim gender-based violence marriage. She drew inspiration from mother (venturing into farming linked to mother), earth (farming outlet for healing marital challenges) religion (attributed success God member Baptist church). account which resonates with injustice suffered shared women environmental crises affirms midst suffering, could still contribute turning crisis opportunity fostering life-affirming theology.Contribution: contributes scholarship bringing fore ways have contributed changing landscape context. also adds new perspective women’s empowerment preservation stewardship earth.
